Story: How to make a website?
My previous client used Wix. I heard that his employee made a website. It may be a common situation for small businesses. After all, he did not receive inquiries through the Wix website. That’s why he contacted me to update the website. At first, he required me to use Wix, but I rejected it. I need to customize it and I was not sure I can do it on Wix. It’s 2-3 years ago. Since then, he received inquiries from local customers and I assume that it’s over 100K values. That’s my job.
In 2021, I am working with a non-profit organization. They have a WordPress website and it’s hacked. According to the story, they did not update plugins for a while. It’s caused, I think. Therefore, they asked me to use Wix. So, I checked Wix, what I can do, cannot do on Wix CMS.

This title of Google search is quite for SEO. Wix.com: Free Website Builder | Create a Free Website. Is it okay? Can does Wix say free website? I am sure that a user faces many functional limits and they cannot public their website by their domain.
Wix templates
I found many templates included non-profit which I consider using as a category. First of all, I need to organize what information I need to inform the target audience. It narrows my choice.

I don’t know someone who cannot make a website by Wix. I don’t mean about designing. I mean choose a template and replace text and image. Defining is different thinking and needs an experience.
Wix eCommerce
I checked the Wix eCommerce templates and some are fun more than Squarespace. I think a consumer misunderstand they can do it. The photo is so professional. Not easy to create the same impression even a consumer follows the template simply.
I think eCommerce usage may possible on Wix if the setup is not complicated. The regulation of up to 100 pages needs to a consideration.
Conclusion: CMS does not indicate the value of website
Client priorities:
– Security
– Back up (related server)
– Plugin update
– Bilingual
These are the lists that the client wants to avoid in the future. Plugin update is inevitable, but I don’t think it’s a WordPress issue. I think the designer who develops the website before explains to a client what they need to do. The project will be completed by the end of October 2021. I will provide the value more than the price even Wix website.
