In 2022, Stable Diffusion emerged as a powerful text-to-image model leveraging deep learning techniques. Its main functionality revolves around producing intricate images based on textual descriptions. However, this versatile model can also be employed for various tasks, including inpainting, outpainting, and generating image-to-image translations guided by textual prompts.

I searched for stable diffusion and this website comes top. I felt something weird. Because the website installed Google Adsense. Many national media features Stable Diffusion, but Google Adsense does not fit their brand.

My first impression was, really? It is quite low quality. I could not believe that TIME 100 featured this company. I doubted myself that this is something wrong. I searched stable diffusion again on Google.

What is Open Source mean?
Open source refers to a software or a project that is publicly available and can be freely accessed, used, modified, and distributed by anyone. It is typically accompanied by a license that grants users the freedom to view, modify, and distribute the source code of the software. This openness allows individuals and communities to study, collaborate, and contribute to the development and improvement of the software. Open source projects encourage transparency, collaboration, and the sharing of knowledge and innovations within the software development community.
What is API mean?
API stands for Application Programming Interface. It is a set of rules and protocols that allows different software applications to communicate and interact with each other. An API defines how different components of software systems should interact, specifying the methods, data formats, and protocols that should be used for communication.
APIs enable different software applications to exchange information and perform specific functions by making requests and receiving responses. They abstract the underlying complexities of the system and provide a simplified interface that developers can use to access the functionalities of another software or service.
APIs are commonly used in web development to enable integration between different systems, such as retrieving data from a database, accessing web services, or interacting with third-party applications. I think UX issues here. From Stability.ai to DreamStudio.ai, each page looks different brand. Why do I have to access many pages for testing stable diffusion here? It makes users confused.
On the previous page, I clicked User Guide on the footer, but after all, I am forced to visit the dashboard. There are some CTA on the landing page, but it is only 1 destination. It is not bad.
Some AI websites do not have a sign-up button, only a login. I don’t know if it’s a good user experience or not. I confused.

I like UI. This is easy to navigate for a new user. I am using Midjourney. I am satisfied with it, but a user has to read the manual for some prompts.

I don’t feel this is stunning, but I did not use an image prompt. AI doesn’t know what I want clearly. The output is fairly good.

I visited Toronto, Ontario a year ago, City of Toronto does not look like this. AI includes CN Tower and it is appropriate.

I am currently(temporally) in Vancouver, BC. This is not a typical image of English Bay. The statue should be the Inukshuk monument. I don’t think beautiful sunset needs a building.

Conclusion: Good competition, DreamStudio and Midjourney
I find DreamStudio, a text-to-image tool, enjoyable. It offers a user-friendly interface and produces satisfactory outputs. It’s common for users to make adjustments to the generated images for further improvement.
Overall, I consider this to be a commendable accomplishment. As a consumer, I have three options: DreamStudio by Stability.ai, DALL·E 2 by OpenAI, and Midjourney. This competition presents a challenging decision, and I eagerly anticipate witnessing the outcomes.
