I came across the Webflow journey during an episode of TWIST (This Week in Startups). I heard that the founder of Webflow faced several challenges and failed attempts in the past due to technical issues prevalent at that time. However, he persevered and continued to develop Webflow, a non-code tool, until it eventually found its place in the market.

You may not easy to follow what the presenter is talking about if you are not a Figma or Webflow user, what is great, why it is great, etc. I am using Figma in general. I am a Webflow expert partner since 2022. Therefore, I could understand components, instances, dynamic, and variable fonts, transitions, teams, etc. Even so, I am not familiar with some functions. I don’t have a chance to use APP/Zapier(third-party integration) on Webflow.
Webflow website development is fun, but I think Webflow is not for everyone. Designers like Webflow, especially non-code designers, like me. I don’t have to think about JavaScript. I would like to develop a Webflow website more, but client often chooses WordPress. I don’t negotiate about it. Because all client does not need a highly interactive website. A client has to update the website themselves. They don’t always want to learn something new. The designer has to know that.

It appears that the Webflow conference took place on November 9th. While Webflow may no longer be considered a startup, community development remains crucial for its growth. According to information available on Google, Webflow has achieved an impressive annual recurring revenue of $100 million through its subscription model. In comparison, Wix generates a substantial $1 billion in revenue, and they have a separate platform called Editor X. It’s important to note that the user base of Wix and Editor X may not necessarily overlap.
The business landscape is undoubtedly challenging and competitive. However, by focusing on our own business and consistently delivering value to our users, we can navigate through these challenges successfully. Remember, staying dedicated to doing the right things for our users will ultimately lead to positive outcomes.

When I develop a client Webflow website. I developed it in my account and I transferred it to a client’s account once I received a payment. When I collaborate with a design agency, they send me a login account to me. Understanding about Webflow hosting plan is not easy for the client the first time. Therefore, Webflow updates it frequently, and now I don’t clearly know what plans we have.

During my client collaborations, the topic of templates often arises. While I’m open to using templates, it’s important to note that using a template does not necessarily result in decreased fees. I’ve noticed that many clients opt to start from a template, but personally, I prefer a different approach. If a client is utilizing a Webflow developer, I encourage them to consider combining elements from template A, and template B, and incorporating custom sections or elements from template C. This approach adds a unique touch that aligns with the client’s specific business needs and objectives.

The pace of growthup company
I’ve taken the time to explore the new features offered by Webflow, and I must say, they are incredibly useful. However, it’s challenging for me to keep up with every single feature they release. To be honest, I tend to lag behind the latest trends by about 1-2 years. But I embrace this reality as it pushes me to continuously learn and improve.
As Webflow approaches its 10th anniversary this summer, I’m excited to see what updates and advancements they have for us this winter. The development of AI in web design is also an intriguing prospect for the future. It’s uncertain how the industry and web designers will be affected, but one thing remains constant: the importance of continuous learning. Let’s stay curious and keep expanding our knowledge.
