Story: Work, life & hobby

Pinterest is an American image sharing and social media service designed to enable the saving and discovery of information on the internet using images and, on a smaller scale, animated GIFs and videos, in the form of pinboards. – Wikipedia

When I searched Pinterest on Google, a description shows “Discover recipes, home ideas, style inspiration and other ideas to try.”. I accessed Pinterest’s home page after logout. Hero section shows food, interior, fashion and gardening. It would be the main target, but people who search for Pinterest also search for Instagram, Etsy and Behance. So, design usage maybe fifth.

Web/graphic design is my job, but I naturally like design, interior, architecture, fashion, music, any design-related topic. I am using Pinterest for enjoying other’s creative work. After all, it is accumulated in my knowledge and reflected in a project. You can see my boards below. It’s completely public.

I am using Pinterest just for getting inspiration, not business(selling something). When I scroll the feed, I look at some interesting product ads. It’s quite engaging and effective. Pinterest does not make people depressed. Pinterest is a unique positioning in Social Media.

I often look at the posts that promote the Behance page. I feel it works to increase the number of visitors, but I won’t be a client. I am not sure that the target audience uses Pinterest to look for web/graphic designers. I little doubt it.
